Evans IEC Logo

The NSW Premier has announced extended stay-at-home orders for the first week of term 3.  Evans IEC students will be learning from home for the duration of the first week.

Learning from home materials will be primarily delivered through Google Classrooms. If your child needs to borrow a digital device, please ring the school on 9622 1289 to organise it with our school. Limited data dongles are also available on a needs basis.

The NSW Government has encouraged parents to keep their children at home. The reasoning behind this relates to the effort to reduce movement and interactions within the community. Our school will have minimal staff supervision for students of essential workers who do not have adequate supervision at home.  Students who are attending school must report to Quad by 8:35am where the rolls will be marked. Please remember all students must wear a mask at all times, practice social distancing and enhanced personal hygiene whilst on school grounds.

Evans Intensive English Centre will operate in line with strict COVID-safe protocols during week 1, term 3.

These include:

 • All students and staff will be expected to wear a mask whilst at school.

• No student should attend school with even the mildest of cold/influenza symptoms.

• Student learning on site will mirror learning from home. There is one mode of instruction for the week. Teachers may not be available online during timetabled lessons if they are supervising students at school.

• Any person collecting resources from the school must log in using our QR code procedures, wear a mask, follow appropriate social distancing and maintain enhanced personal hygiene. They should not attend the school site with any cold/influenza symptoms. ONLY ONE PERSON FROM A HOUSEHOLD MAYBE ON SCHOOL GROUNDS to collect resources.

• The school canteen and uniform shop will not be open.

• All school based events for students, staff and community are postponed until further notice. The advice from the NSW Government at this time is that these protocols are for week 1 term 3.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your continued support and understanding with respect to this evolving situation. We also urge our entire community to continue to follow the NSW Public Health Orders.
